CONTINUING EDUCATION
The interesting thing about being your own boss is that you have the ability to devote a lot more time to
additional and more detailed knowledge. It is scary when you “learn” that some of your philosophies were
only half-truths and now you can see why they succeeded or failed.
Even though all of us are learning every day, there seems to be a direct correlation between the amount
of time devoted, to the amount of education grasped. For me, seminars and presentations put together in
the past with limited amounts of time did not have the quality of those prepared today. The range and
accuracy of the information to the attendees and clients keeps improving, and I sometimes wish that I
could have known then what I know now. Our profession is evolving, and change seems to be the only
constant.
ICC has embarked upon a joint venture with NPI to bring some of the most advanced theory
symposiums, as well as the traditional “how to” seminars, to locations across the United States. Take a
little of your time to expand your horizons or send one of your employees to a National Purchasing
Institute educational experience.
